The production team at Chelsom is more versatile than ever before. Every day we work on a different project, and every day the design and engineering challenges will vary. Whether assembling and preparing 6000 units for a cruise ship cabin scheme or building a one-off chandelier for a huge hotel atrium, the Chelsom team of experts approaches every project with the same level of care and diligence. Many of our team have worked with our business for as long as 30 years and the accumulation of sound production and engineering knowledge means that we can always offer the very best manufacturing solutions to our customers.

We are especially proud of our home-grown manufacturing capabilities in the UK. From our headquarters in the North of England and through various local sub-contractors, we have a diverse and highly skilled team of engineers that help bring many of our design concepts to life. We are delighted to be a member of MADE IN BRITAIN, an official mark that binds Chelsom to an incredible British manufacturing community. Throughout this website, the Made in Britain mark identifies all UK manufactured products, whilst all bespoke designs can also be considered for UK production.

Thanks to our own longstanding position in the lighting market, we have been able to forge deep relationships with factories, artisan makers, sub-contractors and component suppliers all over the world. With all production and quality control overseen by our own team members, we work with trusted suppliers across Asia, Europe and in UK. In China, we work exclusively with very few factories ensuring that they meet our incredibly high standards and expectations all of which are audited in-house by our sourcing teams. The right partner not only has to realise our designs effectively, but they have to meet our sustainability goals, work flexibly to meet our customer demands and cooperate at a fast pace.
QUALITY MATERIALS AND FINISHING
At Chelsom we do not compromise on quality and we know the importance of using the best materials and achieving the perfect finish. We source glass from the Veneto region of Northern Italy because it is home to the finest glass makers, we work with artisan casting companies here in UK, we source only the finest shade fabric materials from around the world and we work with the very best engineers in lighting at our factory in China. We were involved in the setting up of a state-of-the-art plating factory in China in order to ensure a better level of control and superior quality in the finishing of our metal products. Every interior designer knows that finish is everything and we take great pride in ensuring that we execute and control these aspects of our production.
