A FAMILY BUSINESS with a dynamic history

Our recent 75th anniversary was a milestone that all employees at Chelsom are incredibly proud of.

Three generations of the Chelsom family have led our business since its inception in 1947. Reg and Kay Chelsom started the business together where they quickly evolved the company from retail roots into a manufacturing and distribution operation.

Since the mid-1970s, their son Robert Chelsom has pioneered change, growing the business extensively, as it rapidly became more design-led and focussed on the contract and project interiors marketplace.

Soon Chelsom were winning hotel projects with many of the UK’s leading hotel groups and Chelsom product was being specified by the finest interior designers and architects.

In 2006, Robert’s son Will Chelsom joined the business and much of his focus was on global expansion and promoting the brand across Europe, The Middle East and USA.

Will took Chelsom into the Cruise Ship sector, where we are now considered to be one of the leading designers, manufacturers and suppliers of decorative lighting.

In the last 8 years, Chelsom has won two Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in International Trade as well as a Red Dot Award for outstanding product design and we have been involved in an enviable portfolio of esteemed projects across multiple continents and sectors.
