We appreciate that in order to stand out in our global marketplace, we must constantly innovate with design. Led by Robert and Will Chelsom, our UK based in-house design team continuously strives to redefine our lighting collections by reacting to the ever-changing demands and trends that exist within the global hospitality, marine and residential interiors sectors.
More than two years of in-house design led by Robert and Will Chelsom has resulted in the launch of our brand new collection, Edition 28. The collection showcases an array of different decorative lighting styles, designed specifically with global hospitality, marine and residential interiors projects in mind. The product launch reflects our brand image, incorporating a complete makeover of the existing lighting collection as well as a brand new website, new sub-brands and an accompanying new catalogue, for which Chelsom are world famous.
Good product design should not only be about aesthetics. As a major player in the supply of lighting to hospitality, marine and residential projects worldwide, we have to ensure that function, durability, control and all practical considerations are taken into account when designing lighting for such application. Quality has to be the very best to ensure long product life and we always consider where a product is going to be used at the very inception of the design process.
There is a well established team of experts that make up the design team at Chelsom. Led by Robert and Will Chelsom, all standard products are designed in house. The design process is thorough and detailed and involves individuals from design, sourcing, technical, CAD and manufacturing to ensure a well-rounded product is created every time. The same team approaches all of our bespoke design requirements in the same way, ensuring that every customer request is realised accurately.
Our overriding ethos at Chelsom has always been to lead with design. We are lucky enough to have worked on an array of exciting projects alongside the finest interior designers and architects and we are therefore constantly pushed to reinvent our product offering as much as possible. There is a timeless aesthetic to Chelsom’s collections and an undeniable ‘handwriting’ to the overall look and feel of the designs. Our design team seeks to design simple and easy-to-specify products whilst also pushing the boundaries of lighting design trends, offering both day-to-day lighting as well as show-stopping creations.
It is our belief that lighting should always take centre stage within any interior design scheme and we therefore always want to inspire and innovate with our products. Our recent RED DOT AWARD for product design was awarded for our innovative and original LED reading light collection, LED EYE, where we have fused function, technology and creativity to conceive a totally original design. Our expert technical, engineering and design teams are experienced in all aspects of technical and decorative lighting ensuring that we can collaborate with interior and lighting designers to help realise their lighting concepts.
